How do I add videos?

Tap Files to select one or more supported files, or tap Photos to choose a video from your photo library. Selected items appear in the playlist.

Where are my videos stored?

Files are referenced in their original location whenever iOS permits. Videos selected through Photos may be copied into CodecPlayer’s private storage so they remain available. CodecPlayer does not upload your videos.

Why can’t a video be reopened?

The original file may have been moved, deleted, or removed from cloud storage. Download it in Files, then add it to the playlist again.

Why is Picture in Picture unavailable?

Picture in Picture is available when the active playback format uses Apple’s native playback engine. Some formats that require MobileVLCKit may not support native Picture in Picture.

How do playback gestures work?

Double-tap either side to seek, swipe horizontally to preview a new position, swipe vertically on the left for brightness or on the right for system volume, and press and hold for temporary 2× playback.
